Reforestation

The Projects

We focus on only a few forests at a time, allowing us to carefully track each reforestation project and build  relationships with the communities involved. This helps us share meaningful progress with our partners and travel community and contribute to impactful, positive change.

Our tree‑planting ethos is simple: we support only high‑integrity reforestation—restoring forests depleted by deforestation or clearcutting. We never invest in monoculture plantations. Instead, we work with reforestation specialists and local communities whose knowledge is essential to restoring healthy ecosystems and ensuring they benefit from the forests’ return. Planting also diverse native species strengthens biodiversity and supports both nature and people.

The global forest system, the lungs of our planet, is one of the largest stores of carbon on earth, and

home to 80% of terrestrial wildlife and supports the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people. Existing forests around the world currently absorb about 30% of annual CO2 emissions, but if we restore nature, we can achieve an extra carbon drawdown of 30%.

Besides the amazing carbon benefits, by growing trees in countries in the global south, we can also help support often severely impoverished indigenous communities, those who are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, acknowledging that those who have contributed the least to the problem are often the most affected by its consequences.
