● The global MICE industry is under pressure to provide credible, evidence-based sustainability data across their operations and supply chains.

● ZEERO EVENTS has launched version 2.0 of its carbon management platform, designed to facilitate climate action and simplify impact measurement for event planners.

● The tool has joined the industry-leading Cvent App Marketplace, with emissions data automatically calculated and visible in the Cvent dashboard upon integration.

As sustainability becomes increasingly central to expectations of the global events industry, ZEERO has launched an enhanced version of its ZEERO EVENTS platform to help organisers quickly and accurately manage the environmental impact of their events.

The global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry is under mounting pressure to become more carbon-conscious, as sustainability moves from a reputational consideration to a commercial and regulatory expectation. Businesses procuring events increasingly need emissions data from venues, agencies and suppliers to support their own sustainability disclosures, and tightening legislation is placing greater emphasis on transparent, evidence-based sustainability reporting.

Designed specifically for the global MICE sector, ZEERO EVENTS is a carbon measurement platform that supports event professionals to understand, take control of, and confidently report on the emissions associated with their events.

Nico Nicholas, Co-Founder of ZEERO EVENTS, says: “Carbon measurement can feel like a chore, especially in events, where there are so many moving parts and so much data sitting in different places. We wanted ZEERO EVENTS to do the heavy lifting for organisers, while also turning sustainability into something people can actually see, understand and engage with.”

The platform guides users to input information about all major sources of emissions for events, including attendee travel, accommodation, venue operations and catering choices. Using this data for tracking and reporting, the tool also flags opportunities for emissions reduction, educating users on more sustainable choices throughout the planning process to help embed sustainable practice throughout the event’s lifecycle, rather than being addressed as an afterthought. The platform also hosts an external-facing portal, where organisers can direct attendees to learn more about the sustainability of the event they are attending.

Nicholas added: “Legislation, such as the EU’s CSRD, is changing what companies need from their supply chains and that includes the events they procure. Event planners are increasingly asked to provide credible emissions data that can support their clients’ own reporting requirements, so the ability to measure and evidence impact is no longer a nice-to have. Our aim is to make that process far simpler by automating as much of the data input, calculation and management as possible, so organisers can spend less time wrestling with spreadsheets and more time making informed decisions.”

In addition to measurement and reporting functionality, ZEERO EVENTS incorporates a unique hybrid climate contributions model that allows organisers and attendees to contribute towards both nature restoration and renewable energy solutions, replacing traditional giveaways such as plastic swag with tree planting. This helps events support broader environmental progress.

The latest version of the platform introduces a series of upgrades intended to improve emissions accuracy, streamline user workflow, and increase engagement with environmental goals. Enhancements include a refined user interface, upgraded reporting functionality, and improved integration with existing event management infrastructure, including live data import through Cvent. Event organisers and marketers often leverage several different technology systems to deliver successful and impactful event programs, but if those tools aren’t properly integrated, the result can be disjointed experiences and disconnected data. Cvent created the Cvent App Marketplace as a space to collaborate with other leading technology companies to deliver fully integrated solutions that enhance every part of the event lifecycle, such as ZEERO EVENTS.

ZEERO Events forms part of ZEERO Group’s wider ecosystem of climate and environmental solutions, through which the company supports organisations globally with carbon measurement, reporting, reduction and decarbonisation strategies.
